Jablonko Maring 1963 002 / Life in Gunts yard. Luluai Pfun and Bossboy Ngul leaning on the trunk of the central breadfruit (ayu) tree. On the bark in front of Ngul's forehead are carved some letters: NG???? KONO. I did not see this at the time - only seeing it on the enlarged slide! It must have been one of the work boys who had had some schooling at the Anglican school in Gai who did this. Luluai's badge. Men's tobacco pouch (yir kun in Tok Ples) worn over his left shoulder. Note the men's stance. The men's house is up-slope in the background. / Allison Jablonko / Papua New Guinea, Simbai Valley, Fungai clan territory, Gunts
