7. Should any nou—eonunissioned ofiicer or man of the force
as provided in section 4 ol' this Regulation resign or withdraw frorn
bis dnties with snob force during in: currency of his engagement
without the consent of the British or Ftench Resident Commissioner
as the case may be such non-commissioned oflîcer or rnan shall be
liable on conviction to imprisont for a period not exoeeding
thirty days and to n fine not exœeding twenty pounds or w one or
other of those penalties.

10. Ofi'enoes under sections 7, 8, and 9 ofthis Regulntion shall
be justiciable under Article 21 (B) 6 ofthe Protocol cf thc 6th August,
1914. by a Court of First Instance and pending the establishmt of
snob Courts by the Joint Court established under Article 10 of the
Protoool nforesaid,
11. 'I'he Commandants of the two divisions shall be under the
direct orders cf the Resident Commissioners and shall be Polioe
Oflicers in and l‘or the whole Group o! lhe New Helm‘des.
l2. It shall be the duty of the ofiiœrs, non-commissioned
ofioers and men ol' the force to co—operate aooording (o their
respective ranks in the execution of the provisions of the Protoool cf
the 6th August aforessid and in the enforoenient of flac lnws and
regulations in force in the Ncw Hebrides. They shall be responsible
l‘or lhe maintenance cf peso: and good order for the preservation of
the rights ofproperty and of the liberty ot' the subject and shnll keep
watch over tire socurity ot' all. In the fulfilment of their dutjes the
Commandants and ailier Europcsn ofiîcers, or non-commissioned
oflioers shall be vosted with all the rights powers authon'ties privileges
