4. The Resident Oommissicners, scting jointly, msy at any

5. Notwithslanding mything hereinbefore contained eithet

cf Schedule “A” annexed, nuthorising tire importation by him for
medical or scientific purposes or any cf the substances mentioncd in
Article 2 herecf, cxcept prepnred opium and the pipes and uœnsils
mentioned in Article 2 (14). A separate permit shall be nccessnry for
each particulnr substance. A duplicata ofench permit shnll be supplied
to the importer to be sent by him t0 the persan from whom he

intends to import the substance.

6. Copies cf a1] permit: issned shall be sent to the Collector
cf Cnstoms, who shall render to Lb: Resident Commissioners at lhe
enrl oî every quarter a retum of quantifier: cf each cf the prohibited
substances importcd under permit.

'I. Nothing in this Regulation shnll apply to the sale, posses-
sion, or distribution of—

(a) Any substance ccmpcunded by a qualified pharmacist, or
at any hospital, as a medicine according to thc prescription
of n qustfied medical practitionnr or qualified veterinary
surgeon, provided that it is supplied or sold to the person
for whom it wns inænded;

Medicines dispensed by a qualified medical prncfitioner,
for his patients, or by a qualificd veterinary surgeon, for
animals, under bis treatmem;
[(c) Any ot' the substances or maberials specified in Article 2
ercof, except prepsred Opium and the pipes and uœnsils

mentioned in Article 2 (l4) supplied by a Condominium
Medical Ofliocr tc certain authorised persons workiug
undcr the supervision cf the said Medicsl Ofiicer. The
names cf such authcrised perscns, afler being approvcd by
the Chief Condominium Mcdical Ofiioer, shallbe submitted
tc bath Resident Commissioners for approval and registra-
