1. 'I’his Joint Regulation mny be oitnd for all purposes as the
Sea Shell (Central) Joint Regulation, 1957.
7. For the pnrpowes of thin Joint Regnlation: (a) the won!
“Inspector” menus imy District Amt, Customs Ofiîocr or Police
Ofiioer and any person appointed in writjng by the Resident Com-
missionm acting jointly to be au inspector undet and for th:
purposes of this Joint Regulation; (b) thc words “sen shell" mean
Trochus Nilotilus (Trochus) and Thrbc Marmoratus (Green Snail).
3. The Rcsident Commissioners may by Joint Rules declnre
and appoint in respect of citber the whole or any specified part of
Lhc Group a period to be observed as a close season during which
period the fishing for or the removn] from any reaf, shore or seabed
in the Group of sea shell shall be an ofl‘ence.
4. le removal, mirage, transport, sa]: or export of green mail
or truchus whjch at the lime of such removnl, Ancrage, transport,
sale or expert bas not attained the size preneribed in the schedule cf
this Regulation 311211 bc an ofimce. Provided that thnt part of thin
Article relating to the storagc, transport, sale or export of green
mail or trochus shall not came into cflect until the 15th January,
1958.
5. The Resident Commissioners may by Joint Rules provide
for the carrying of any cf the plu-pores or provisions cf this Joint
Regulation inw efiect. They may also by Joint Rlllcn from time to
Lime amend the provisions of the schedules to this Joint Regulation.
6. Any persan who oommits an ofl'enœ against tlu's Joint
Regulntion or any Joint Rnles made thereunder or who aids and
abets the commission cf snob ofienœ shall be liablc to a fine not
