Pandjaouye taking salt bars out of Kandavatche's salt workshop. Warineu in foreground is laying out the next barkcape to lay bars on. The tanget in the background were planted by Koumaineu when he was a little boy, along the fence. Behind the roof of Koumaineu's private men's house is visible - he preferred to sleep alone. Warineu wraps bar in banana bark and Pandjaouye fastens these with bits of vine. Notice the very thin saplings bent over the paths on each end of the workshop. These have been put up by the old men as a warning to the young men not to trespass. If any young man were to go beyond, the old men would be furious with him. Of course, the women folk don't come anywhere near. The workshop is still standing, since Kandavatche died. Koumaineu put a taboo on it. No one uses it. () / | | | | | | |
